"The Aftermath" by Gianni Kazaki explores the personal and emotional aftermath of losing his scholarship due to the bad management of the school's administration during the pandemic of COVID-19. This exhibition details his relocation from Italy to the United States, working in factories and doing midnight dishwashing jobs to be able to pay for his tuition and graduate. Through a variety of mediums, such as paintings and installations, this exhibition delves into the themes of loss.
Kazakis uses his own experiences as a starting point to explore the broader themes of how people cope with unexpected challenges and setbacks in life. This exhibition showcases how art can be used to process difficult experiences and transform them into something that resonates with viewers on a deeper level.
NOTE: In 2024, Gianni Kazakis regained his scholarship, allowing him to graduate the same year.
